i5-8600k or i5-9600k for a Gaming/Streaming build?

Hi. Long time viewer, first time writing here. So first of all, hi.

I've been planning on upgrading my pc for a long time, and I finally have the money to do so.
The thing is, I'm a bit outdated in terms of hardware knowledge, so I'll trust you.

My current build is kinda old:
-CPU: AMD FX8320

-MoBo: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P

-PSU: Tacens Mars Gaming 750W (noisy-defective crap :S )

-RAM: 12 Gb (3x4Gb Kingston HyperX Fury 1600MHz)

-Storage: HyperX Fury SSD 240Gb, WD 1Tb HDD

-GPU: AMD MSI Radeon R9 380 4GB

-CPU Cooling: CM Seidon 120V

-Case: NZXT S340 Razer Edition

And I'm upgrading to an Intel build, but keeping the storage, GPU and CPU cooling (and case, in case it does matters).

I've already got my MoBo, RAM and PSU, which are:

-MoBo: ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E (which is sold out everywhere and sits arround 230€, and I got for 140€ from a reputable seller with warranty, but that's another story)
-RAM: Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8GB DDR4 3000MHz (will upgrade to 16 when possible)

-PSU: Thermaltake Smart BX1 RGB 650W

And for my CPU, sadly I can't afford an i7, so I'll go i5. But i've been doing some research, and heard a lot of good things about i5-8600k and a lot of bad things about i5-9600k, so that's my question.

What will fit my build better?

The main purpose of the pc is gaming and streaming (would like to 1080p60fps, but surely will stick to 720p60fps streaming).

Also, if you have any major suggestions about MoBo, RAM or PSU, I can still make use of the warranty.

Thank you very much, and excuse my bad english. Merry Christmas to everyone.

The 8600k is cheaper for the same thing. If you overclock a little it's perfect, and if you overclock a lot you can delid (which would be harder on the 9600k due to solder).

The 8600k is good for your purposes until you get an i7

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

If your worried about cost and you want to stream why not get a ryzen procceser

Neither go i7 8700K.

If you can't afford it go Ryzen instead as the i5 will be a bad purchase for what you're trying to achieve, very low cost effective and needs a premium for overclocking any ways.

Your PSU of choice is meh and the motherboard is just over-priced.

But just for the sake of answering the title: both 8600K and 9600K are identical in every way but the later being soldered instead of using TIM which being realistically changes nothing on overclocking potential outside of enthusiast world record breaking stuff with liquid nitrogen.

If somehow I managed to get the money for the i7, should I go 8700k for 415€ or 9700K for 449€?

the 8700K all the way, there are no true differences between it and the more expensive 9700K because the Hyper-Threading on the 8700K makes up for the extra 2 cores but no Hyper-Threading on the 9700K.

Gaming wise they are the same and streaming wise provided you use QuickSync they will also be the same.
