Laptop Throttling

My laptop will throttle from 4ghz to 2.8ghz when the temp stays at 81C then sit at 72C. I am fine running it at 87C so is there some way to limit the intel throttling or something?

Just keeping this here as a I'm assuming you've cleared out dust and repasted already?

 

If so, then undervolting is the way to go.

You could maybe increase the Turbo Boost Power Time Window in XTU? If you're fine with running at 87C. Although try an undervolt as well, that will help the temps.

I have undervolted and reposted. Temps are fine at 81C but it just throttles down. Also when I have tried to install XTU it says the system isn’t supported. It’s an 8550U

Hey, I have the same CPU. Although my laptop probably has much crappier thermals since I get maximum temps of 99C while stress testing in XTU. Not sure why your computer isn't supported, probably something to do with the model and motherboard. I'm not sure what's up man.

Matebook X Pro. I believe it's just a power consumption limit set by DTPF and removing it would make it run at 4ghz all the time and battery life would suck
