Hey guys I have around 1000$ to build a new PC, so I was wondering if this build is alright for the money, I will get an ssd later and I don't need peripherals.

Get an SSD, no excuse not to. They're so cheap nowadays. Slow ram is not so good for Ryzen right now, but I hope Ryzen 3000 fixes that. If you wait a month, new CPUs will come out and current ones will be cheaper.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I would aim for a better board as well. That one is really low end. The MSI B450 Tomahawk is a good choice and will handle an R7 2700/X if you want an 8 core in the future.

You are probably looking at the End of May earliest for the new Ryzen release date. That is when Computex is happening.

To be honest you can get a better case for a lower price, i reccomend the mastercooler masterbox Lite 5

i heard that b450 doesnt have that many ports.

Also the b450 board should support the new ryzen processors?

The MSI B450 Tomahawk is almost twice the price of the one I put on my list.

What are the specific differences between those two? Assuming I won't be upgrading in the future.

What do you mean by ports ? The AM4 chipset is supported to 2020 if I remember correctly.

The Tomahawk has better VRM's. If you don't plan on going higher than a 6 core then it should be ok.

Do you already have the 2700X ?

I do not. I am in the middle of building a new pc. I have everything besides motherboard, cpu and gpu. Possibly upgrade to 2700x later or wait for the 3000 series to release

i was thinking maybe get an expensive X470 board with a cheap cpu for now then later save up for the 2700x or 3000 series .

also on a budget so that makes things more difficult

If it was Me I would go with the cheaper R7 2700 if it meant getting a better board. The R7 2700 is $249.99 compared to $304.99 for the R7 2700X.

That $55 could be put towards a better board such as the ASRock X470 Taichi or MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon. At the $120 - $130 mark you would be looking at a lesser board such as the Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming.

Phew! The pro carbon is a little much, $200. What about the non carbon version the MSi X470 gaming pro?

It is $179.99 on Amazon, or does that not include tax ?

The Taichi is $164.99 if you include the $25 rebate on Newegg.

If those are both over budget then the Gigabyte one I mention is fairly decent.

Looking at that list the Asus Strix X470 is also $169.99. I would probably take that over the MSI just for the superior bios.
