a 570 is wayyyy overpowered for such a cpu. what is your monitor resolution? ahhh...a gift...keep that gpu and later upgrade, you will see much improvement.

and OLD PSU? is 450 peak watts? brand? name? stats on side?(pic?)

some psu have overwattage protection, If you unplug and switch the psu off, the hit the power button to empty the capactiors, then plug it back in and switch it back on what does it do?

A good 450W PSU should be fine for that system. See from other thread OP is in Europe. Think either Corsair CX450M or CX550M if in budget would be nice budget choices. I use those for my budget builds.

Later on, maybe look for a used i5 or even i7 Haswell CPU to upgrade, should give a nice lift there too.

just to say man, you have a z board which is very decent, with a very low cpu, so if you can find a i7 4770 or 4790 for a decent price that is literally the best single cpu for ddr3 ram. and will be up to snuff with even the newer cpus though not the best as it once was.

have you tried turning it back on? does it do anything at all? do you have another computer or PSU you can test with?

tried different outlet/fuse? other things work plugged in there?

is reviews and thoughts about it and the possible cx 'upgrade'

you can definitely get better...but you can also get the same or worse.

Look at your local places and e-commerce, then take the name and google with 'jonnyguru' most of the time they have the info your looking for in pretty easy to understand forms.

check your temps as well with hwinfo 64, if you havent.

if your psu is really old, the fan could also be dying and thus the psu overheating.

its 7:48am where im at though....so good night, and good luck, oh and rebates are awesome...if they work.

You should get a new psu regardless. That unit is trash.
