Simple Build, Gettin Back Into the Game! (small update 2/13)

danerobert14

another thought. would I be okay running a 2gb card, gaming on a single monitor, yet utilizing 3 monitors? will my fps still lower or will it be fine since the game is only running on one screen?

if you run 1 screen, your gpu has to do less, so yes, your fps will go up. (but don't run any movies or some shit on other screens)

I7 3930K @4.4 GHz  /  Asus rampage 4 formula  / 4x 8gb kingston hyperx blue low profile / gtx 980  / 2x ssd 500gb samsung 840 / 500gb 840evo ssd   /  500 GB WD blue /  windows 7 ultimate

@danerobert14

you could get this its EVGAs 760 4gb version i play BF4 on ultra at 1080p and have no problems, it will dip down to 40fps during a lot of explosions but still very playable.

Running two monitors for now off of the onboard graphics, until I get my 760. Dont mind the wires! I dont want to go too far into cable management until I have all the pieces to the puzzle and know where I want everything to go!

also if anyone has any suggestions on some cool gadgets for the right screen lmk!

  • 5 weeks later...
Added a $10 firewire PCI card to convert some old videos from my old camera to the PC. TOTALLY WORTH IT! Also added a 12" strip of RGB LED, but ill take a picture of that when I get a graphics card in my system. It looks pathetic without a video card.

my friend has an R9 270X 4GB version it plays bf4 @ ultra but IMHO it's better to get a 3GB R9 280x as it has more stream processors and more than 2GB is kinda pointless for a single display like he is using. you could always crossfire 270x for a decent price and get reasonable performance even in eyefinity but like i say 280x is probably a better buy
