Is there any non hacking or modding way to connect a usb game controller or an xbox controller over usb to a nintendo switch? obviously just plugging them in does not work or I would not be asking :P. I am just curious thanks!

google 8bitdo Wireless adapter

Should be like 15€ or so.

But tbh:
either get the Switch Controller or use the PS4 one because Motion Controls.

If you're looking for a cheap wired controller and don't care about rumble, the ones from PowerA are nice. Stay away from the Hori pad if you want something with a D-pad, as their D-pad is horrendous. But the PowerA are pretty good. My brother bought a couple of them for playing 4-player Smash and they felt solid when I was using one. Lighter than the Pro Controller but pretty comparable IMO. Here is a good review on their controllers:

Honestly the rumble isn't that impressive in the Pro Controller anyways, so you're not missing much without rumble. Nothing touches the joycons when it comes to quality of rumble.

I think these were $25 each at Target, but it could have been $30. Really nice controllers for the price though. I expected they would be junk when I saw my brother pick them up but they're surprisingly awesome if you don't mind being wired and giving up rumble.

They have bad D-Pad as well?? Or only the "normal" ones, not the Gamecube likes?

Those look like real D-pads. I meant the Hori pad that looks like a Pro Controller.

Do you mean within available Switch controllers or controllers as a whole? Because while I have no experience with the Joycon, I do have experience with the XBox One controllers and their rumble is pretty amazing. They are a huge step up from the 360 and feel better than the PS4 controller as well. Do Joycons have trigger rumble?
