Hey EvilPig. I'm an ordinary guy too I just like to tweak things until they are about to burst. ??

Are you overclocking balloons? btw, I would check the cs, and how to quote people, they don't get a notification if you don't do it.

Thanks, I know how to quote ? didn't know there were notifications of such, thats nice though.

Anyhow, no I don't overclock balloons, ? but I overclock anything I can, well except my Huawei.. I haven't bothered to root it. Maybe another day, but I overclocked my monitors, my CPU, NB, HT-link, FSB, GPU, VRAM. Oh and I also overclocked my desk with RGB. ?

you forgot to overclock your hdd, psu, fans and mouse (please don't)

btw, you actually can still overclock your monitor.

yep, and mortis is still busy with adding more and more. Just ask if you want anything added

Cool, that's something to think about. Features are nice.

I could only get my AOC monitor stable at 65 Hz :( Wish I could afford a couple of nicer ones, but I gave it a shot at an OC.

Well I didn't OC my PCI-x bus, neither my mouse.. it goes to 16K or 18K DPI or something so I had to downclock it lol. I'd first have to overclock myself.. maybe there is a thread about that.

Thanks for the welcome guys! @8==D @Crunchy Dragon

Hmm BenQ to 78 you say? Now that's interesting, thanks for that. This AOC is old, I mean OLD lol but Imma try experimenting a bit more.

specs?

Just an old FX-8350 clocked at 4500 but it's a rock solid OC. Bumped the FSB a little bit along with the HT-link and NB. Just a bump. I run (for now) a 1050 Ti Strix clocked at 1974 MHz/8800 Mhz core/mem. I had hopes for better OC than this but that FX sure is power hungry and that Pascal sure temp throttles early (around 55°) so I have no thermal headroom with this Hyper 212. I put all specs in my profile. :)

78 without tinkering too much. it were both pretty old monitors, one on hdmi, the iiyama even on dvid. but my father is using it now, so i can't try anymore

cool but why a higher mult instead of a higher FSB?

I did 276*16,5 on my sis's 8350 for daily use, I had it before for gaming and hit 280*18 easily, RAM is 1866 but there's no way it can stand a 38% increase on its frequency so I set it to 1333 (+38% = 1840) on the BIOS so it runs close to its stock, tinkered with the latencies a bit but irl it makes no difference.

Had to replace the heatsink to go past 220 on the northbridge tho

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

Well I have a habit of clocking with multi when the CPU is unlocked, however I gave the FSB a shot in the past too but I couldn't get it stable.. Also tried to set the RAM to 1333 while I upped the FSB but wasn't stable. Upped voltages and loosened RAM timings but didn't help much. This board is very bad.. It has poor VRM and whatnot... I got this mobo, RAM and CPU as a trade (gave away an ancient Phenom X4) so while I usually wouldn't run a mobo like this on such a power hungry CPU.. replacing it is just not worth it, I'd be better off with a Ryzen in that case. Well ok I could probably get more out of it with better cooling but it's hard to find a better than the Hyper 212 that also fits in the case due to the side panel fan (I had to break off a corner from it so it wouldn't put strain on the 212). Hehe when I clocked this rig I was so frustrated I didn't think I'd ever get it stable without VRM throttle (I have the stock FX cooler mounted on the VRMs btw). Well least it's stable as a rock like this.

Oh and I can just forget about LLC. ? It will overheat and shut down when loading Windows.. ?
