For the last few months i have been having an ongoing issue with the two xbox one's in my house. I have tried everything short of buying a new router to try to solve this issue. What happens is that when i have both xboxs hardwired to the same router one always drops connection, it usually only last about 5 seconds, just enough to kick you out of a multiplayer game and make you resign in. We tried to run one xbox wifi and one hard wired and that does resolve the disconnect issue but then one xbox has to run wifi and its laggy when playing online. We have tried new Ethernet cords and that did nothing. I am assuming the router we have just doesn't have the bandwidth to keep both xboxs online at the same time. I am no genius when it comes to networking and really need some help. Thank you!!

Sounds like that router needs replacing.  A simple router should handle a couple devices.

My home router can simultaneously handle my 3 TV boxes (wired),  3 desktop PCs (wired), multiple consoles (wired) and 2 ipads (wireless) and mine and my wife's cellphones (wireless) all at once with no issue.

Do you have a dedicated switch in between the two consoles and the router? If not I'd be curious to see if it solves the problem.
