Backup program recommendations

I am setting up a backup server for all of the pcs in my house. Is there a backup program that will basically clone each drive to a folder then only change modified files every night?

Don't ask me how, but @NelizMastr told me you can do it inside windows, just don't remember it rn

What os is the server?

then give urbackup a shot if you want a server to manage it, otherwise, just have something like windows backup all point to the network share.

Then I. think there is a package for amanda, otherwise, just have the clients point their backup to the fileshare.

i found EaseUS Todo backup program. it can do differential backups and its free. have you used it? if so is it any good?

Its a client only program, so it won't be managed by a server, and if you want a free client only backu pprogram, might as well use the windows backup thats built in, it works well.

but does windows backup do diferential backups? because my network couldn’t handle 8 machines doing full backups every night

yep it does incremental backups. 

 

How fast is your network, gigabit should be fine for this, don't do this on 100 or slower.

i have gigabit. i would like 10Gb on the server and have that connected to a switch but if i have i cremental backups then i would need 10Gb

How much data are you backing up? This should work fine, and almost all programs support incemental.

 

Also why not have each system backup on a different night.

well their are 8 systems and the total size of all of them is 8TB. i would like nightly backups so i can get the newest image back onto the machine as soon as possible.

The windows backup will do this fine, id try that first, easy to use, work well, image and file backups.
