1.1.1.1 does indeed work well, until your ISP blocks them....

Never hurts to have a fallback, or several. Look into OpenDNS for some alternatives

If your country is authoritarian enough to block DNS servers then perhaps you should get a VPN instead

Yup, mine did. I was using 1.1.1.1 through my router for quite some time, then one day, whole house was dead in the water. Changing that solved it. Changing it back, broke it again.

Sorry to burst your bubble and be that guy the 1.1.1.1 DNS does not increase your speed, it only increases the web loading time.
