I'd get it for my upcoming budget build if I didn't already get the GPU for free from my brother.  It's a 960 2gb, but for what it's going to be used for, it's actually overkill lmao.

Totally didn't impulse buy this when I already have a 1050 and 1050 Ti to sell and an RX480 Nitro+ I never use because my main rigs have better GPUs already and my mITX system is too smol for a GPU...

This is me right now.  I mean...with kids, and goals...I really don't NEED this GPU, but it would be a cheap upgrade.  Glad I didn't impulse buy that RX 470 earlier this week.  Im going to simmer on this one for a few hours.  Cause if I get one, Im gonna get two LOL

Im waiting for the MSI single fan variant to continue to tank in prices cause thermals (its really what Im waiting on at this juncture...but my old GPUs are just being hammered) - and I have a solution in my rig already with the amount of fans on the GPUs - but I don't want to take that risk for $170...maybe $150 for the 8gb variant.

Sell them eventually. My little brother is using a 660 of mine and doesn't feel like he needs to upgrade, the 1050 Ti is in an X58 rig planning to be sold, I need to put the 1050 up for sale sometime as well, or put it in another small rig and sell that, then I have my two EVGA 1080 SCs with a matching SLI bridge, those are being sold to a friend once he gets the mons in a couple weeks. Have the RX480 and soon to be RX570 on hand to tinker with once I build a test bench (planning to use an extra AM4 mobo I have with my 2700X after I upgrade to Zen 2 when it drops). And then my main rig rn has my 1080 Ti and I'm doing a watercooling loop with my Vega FE/2700X rig.

Haha yeah. I'm currently waiting on CES to see if they actually reveal their new cards, and what the claims are.

The rumors look...very enticing.

I'm also quite torn between 4GB and 8GB. I likely wouldn't keep the card for more than a year, and I only play a handful of games. Most of the comparisons I've seen show that it's basically the same as the 8GB, aside from one or two titles...
