Hello all,

I was just wondering what recommendations y'all had for chairs. Gaming chairs or not, doesn't matter. I'm using my dad's old computer chair from like 10+ years ago now, so anything is an upgrade at this point. Lol. I don't mind those racing style gaming chairs as I do actually race cars and enjoy the feeling of those seats. But I was wondering what kind of recommendations on chairs with decent lumbar support and comfort for extended gaming or homework periods you guys have. Thanks in advance!

I use this.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

What budget/country?

$100 office chairs from amazon/office depot/ikea are fine

Gaming chairs can be nice if you end up liking the fit

chairs really don't get good until you spend like $1000 or buy used versions of those chairs

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Sorry. Completely forgot about the budget. Not really sure. I guess 350 USD or lower. Yeah, I've seen those really high end office chairs, those things are nuts. But I'm sure they're really comfy

I went with GT Omega, there are a lot of cheaper chinese clone racing chairs compared to the $300 ish ones from like DX racer and whoever, but I don't know if the cheap ones are any good.

Whatever you buy make sure it has an aluminum base instead of a plastic base.

These sites may also have promo codes floating around.

Vertagear is also highly popular I think
https://www.vertagear.com/

And these have amazon prime for return shipping if needed so probably go with one of those

"

or 5 monthly payments of $60.00

"

Do you see that option or is that just me?

Okay cool. I have no problems looking at Chinese knock-offs. Lol. I'll check that out now. Yeah, I've heard Vertagear is pretty good too

The chinese knock offs may be really shit though is the point

I think DXracer has an old tear down comparison

Also is there a payment option for you as well on the link I added? It's 0% interest and it still ships immediately.

I have a DXRacer (this one to be specific) and I love it. It's not for everyone, but it's the style chair that I wanted. Very comfortable, very adjustable. Linus & Co use Maxnomic/Need for Seat, which is also a very good brand. Both start at a couple hundred USD. I can't speak to very many other brands, except to say this:

A good chair is probably one of the best investments you can make. Assuming you don't stand, you spend literally your entire time using the chair (that can't be said about any other part of a computer/peripherals). Some people don't think so, but I would gladly give up other hardware to keep my chair.

Yeah, that's true. Oh nice. Yeah, I'm not too worried about that. I'd just put it on my card and pay it off that way anyway. But thanks for the info!

Okay cool. Yeah, I'm on the fence about the racing style. Ran one in my daily driver car for a while and it wasn't great. But the office chairs seem to be more focused on actual comfort. Lol. Yeah, I've seen the Maxnomic ones, I think Summit1G runs one on stream too. I'm sure they're pricey, they look really nice. Might check them out either way. No, I agree. I'm going to college now and enjoy a lot of gaming, so yeah, I'm trying to put down a decent investment into a good chair. Thanks for the info though!

Yeah, like I said, the whole racing chair thing isn't for everyone. I also happen to be pretty skinny so that helps. IIRC they both make office chairs as well. Maxnomic definitely does, and I'd imagine DXRacer would too.

Well I would say an actual car racing chair is less about comfort and more about holding you into a race car, where as a PC chair doesn't have to hold you into much since ya know... you don't move (unless you're one of those guys).

No, I know, that's what I meant. Lol. But yeah. I dodge bullets in fps games sometimes, but nah, not the dude that goes nuts like that. Lol
