Hello all,

This is my first time building a PC and need some help,

With some help I have these two builds which are within my budget of a $1000, obviously if I spend less thats great I can put it into other items.

-used mainly for videos games like ‘league of legends’ and ‘smite’. I only ever have 1-3 games I play at any given time so space isn't a huge issue. Along with some productivity. I am not an intensive gamer but I would like to run 60 frames at 1080p.

-is this a balanced build?/I’m aware there is always some bottleneck but where might be the most severe places?

-where might I improve, or what is not nessassry/downgrable.

-any other suggestions or tips, useful websites.

There are two builds here and I can't decide which is better or is a mix of the two is best!1855267495_ScreenShot2018-12-13at9_17_22PM.png.c4026906bb0c755ff7986ad2b1f2b461.png1171133628_ScreenShot2018-12-13at9_17_36PM.png.9c3df256bab8c9d1d95ecc4c66b42be4.png

*also I don't know if I need coolers or not and if that is enough of a power supply*

-Thank you!

if your budget is 1000 you can max it out with a build like this

I would personally go with ryzen for future support for the platform. They offer really good upgrade paths and don't keep their older cpus at their msrp long after they are replaced by faster versions. If you look at old i7s they are still the same price while the r7 1700 and 1700x have been seen on crazy sales.

You're awfully insistent on getting an answer, huh? We can see that you've started a thread about essentially the same thing 3 times now.

Sorry I didn’t think they were too similar, I am new to all this and have so many questions I can’t quite find answers too :(

If you need to save a few bucks, you can step down to an RX 580 4GB or RX 570. You might have to do that if you need a mouse, but the 570 is still a great card. Both are more than enough to play esports titles at 1080p. You might be able to squeeze in 16GB of RAM also if you drop to a 570, but I think you'll be fine with 8GB. You can always add more later if you so desire.

"Spindle Storage" = normal hard drive. Is that an ultra-hard 1000CAD?

it isn't a hard 1000CAD (high as 1300CAD) and I currently have no other hard drives. I would like to keep as close to my needs as possible though so I can put the money else where (desk, accessories, monitor etc) but if I need to spend it on the components I will since that is the most important place to put the money.

Give me a sec on the build then.

I just put some manual amounts for Keyboard & Mouse. Those are always so personal that I don't really have any suggestions.

The build is pretty straight forward. The Motherboard + Memory + 1 TB SSD + PSU lay the foundation for the system. The CPU & GPU can be upgraded in about a year for probably 400CAD, for a sizable improvement, if needed. (AMD releases new CPU & GPUs in 6-8 months.) Given your games, you really don't.

Do you need WiFI? I'd personally go with a bit more expensive motherboard, but I meet the budget the first time with it.

Thank you for your help, I think I will connect it via ethernet cable. Any other suggestions, I would love to hear them

Not really. The foundation of this build is what I listed: good Motherboard, more than enough memory at a good speed, 1 TB SSD (prices have DROPPED in the last 6 months) is more than you'll probably ever need and a good PSU. The CPU & GPU are the easiest upgrades, and we have generational changes in a couple of months. As a result, the upgrade path gets really easy for some sizable improvements, when you need it.

The Monitor part is up to you. The build has a 144 Hz FreeSync display. If you want to drop to 60/75 Hz with a better Panel, I can poke through for some suggestions that direction. With the budget, we can probably squeeze in a 1440p monitor without too much issue. Depends how much space you have & what you'd prefer.
