I doesn't wipe anything. You install it from the store, reboot and you're done. Nothing won't be changed. Unless something goes terribly wrong... :P

Few days ago ,i received a beta key for Project Spark but that game only available for 8.1.So i am still debating whether i should upgrade to Windows 8.1.My question is does  upgrading to 8.1 will wipe my hard drive or make some of my application useless? Currently i on windows 8.

Can't you just update Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 from the Windows Store? If you can do that, then all your data is preserved.

 

Edit: OK, I misunderstood. I thought you meant a Dream Spark account and was going to update to Windows 8.1 from a ISO Image. Sorry about that.

It works like windows anytime upgrade. Except it's free.
