cpu CPU Cores not showing!!!

Does anyone know why it says that cpu has 2 cores but its ment to be a quad core?!

Right click the graph > Change graph to > Logical processors

TL;DR that series of CPUs use a interesting core layout. while it has 4 cores, windows sees them as threads instead..........

 

also, did you buy that CPU recently?

No, this cpu came with the prebuild system i bought quite some time ago, but now i noticed that!! Thanks for info tho.

Hopefully this block diagram of the CPU you have makes things clear:

 

Basically AMD markets your processor as being "Quad core" because they count each "Integer Core" as... well... a core. However as far as the OS is concerned, the entire module is a core because each of those Integer Cores share a single input port on the top of the diagram. The OS can't directly put work on the integer cores separately. It can only schedule two threads on the module and hope for the best.

ah good, some people end up doing some questionable pruschasing decisions at times.
