Low resolution and pc not detecting actual monitor help

Doggo4hire

iv ran into a problem where i booted up my computer then it went down to 1024x768 and it wont let me switch back to 1920x1080 as it doesnt even show up as an option. i went to nvidia control panel and went to change resolution but im using hdmi and for some reason its detecting any hdmi cord i use as dvi, and yes iv used a dvi to hdmi cord too. I looked at device manager and saw the monitor is being detected as "Generic Non-PnP monitor" and i have a benq gw2760s. i have tried to update my graphics drivers numerous amount of time through gforce experience. if u need to know what graphics card i have for drivers i have an asus gtx 1080ti strix. please and thank you for the help
