Just upgraded my computer, (new MB, RAM, SSD, CPU) (Asus prime X-470 pro, g-skill trident Z 2400MHz 32gb, ryzen 7 2700x)

my old SSD (intel m.2) was working but just fine almost to the point of my final shutdown. I wanted to run a few benchmarks first to see what the actual upgrades really did. I ran them no prob, then started OC the system a hair, and I was well within range of safety barely even tweaked it.( Seriously 4.35 on a stock 4.0, not anything crazy) And the thing wouldn't boot to win 10 anymore. So whatever, I said screw it and started putting together the new system. Tried to boot that SSD and no dice, so I installed Windows 10 on another ssd (crucial 2.5" SSD) lying around and it boots fine. So I cloned that win10 to my new SSD (Samsung 970 m.2) and it boots perfectly. So now the test, I loaded win10 from the crucial drive and tried to clone the data partition from the Intel to the Samsung it worked but when it boots I get a bsod. Also tried to clone 100% of the Intel to the Samsung same result of bsod.

How can I get my win10 off the intel SSD onto another drive to boot?

Reson I want to clone win10 is because all the programs I have installed I no longer have product keys for and can't simply reinstall.

I'm guessing something is corrupt on the Intel drive, any ideas how to find it after the clone process and fix this problem?

Like I said I have 3 total drives and 2 of which I can boot win10 on to conduct work to get this fixed.

Thanks in advance ?

If your Windows activation is linked to your Microsoft account, then you don't need a product key to activate it, you can just log into your Microsoft account during installation and it should activate on its own.

No windows activation is not a concern it's various other programs and such.

I am able to start over from scratch… but all my setting and everything well you know how it is. It's easier to keep going with what you have that from nothing.

Judging by your efforts, I would personally disagree...

What's the error message Windows gives you?

I like to fix things it's better to fix than to replace, also in case something similar happens to a friend I'd like to be able to help instead of saying sorry you're SOL ??‍♂️

did u take ur m.2 ssd with windows and put it in a new motherboard?

i am wondering if secure boot is causing problems.

Yes I did, how does secure boot work. But also like I said it stopped working on the old motherboard.

Also not sure if I was clear in the op but I can access the drive and files through windows when it's just mounted as an additional drive. Is there a way to copy the files? I know windows likes to hide stuff so it can't be easily copied.

secure boot works by adding a digital signature of your boot loader (windows drive) into the bios settings.  The key to verify the boot loader is stored in the bios.  This is to ensure that when you start your pc, only windows gets loaded and no additional rogue software.

if you reset your bios, it is possible you cleared these keys as well, and your new motherboard wouldn't have them.  you either need to regenerate the keys or disable secure boot.
