So i had my PC since release of i7 3930k. At the moment it runs on stock speeds but i have no clue as to how to overclock it, So maybe some of you can tell me, i know its still a good cpu yet im a newbie when it comes to overclocking and stuff like that. My Pc is fully watercooled which includes CPU, Motherboard and GPU. I have 2 360 rads one of top and one infront of the case. So I have alot of cooling potential if needed.

My current spec is:

Intel i7 3930k

Asus Rampage IV Extreme

Corsair Dominator Platinum 4x4gb 1866 RAM

MSI Gtx 1070 EK X
Corsair 860i psu

Samsung 850 evo 500gb main drive

Crucial mx500 500gb x2 storage + WD Blue 2tb

You're going to have to go into the bios and adjust the clock speed multiplier and core voltage, but you should probably check out a tutorial from JayzTwoCents or some other overclocking channel on Youtube. Best of luck.

Overclock guides on YouTube are the most effective thing for you. Reading text doesn't really help that much.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

is there any advantage in overclocking at all?

Higher clock speeds = better CPU performance

Your custom loop will obviously be able to handle the extra thermal load, and you don't risk damage to your CPU if you're careful (don't leave auto voltage on and don't set the CPU above 1.45 volts)
