The main pc I built last year was my pc I had at home but since i live on campus and don’t have space for a full tower I use a smaller pc just mid tower. I have a ryzen 5 2400g and no GPU 8gb ram and asus motherboard (not sure the actual name)

and I just have a cheap $100 1080p display from asus. My mouse is good and I love it ($10 mouse)

and my keyboard is from 2007.

well then thats easy get the GPU for sure you should be able to find a 1060 in that range though I would add 30-50 to your budget for the 6GB versions or go used

So I’m having a bit of a first world problem. It’s the holidays coming up and I have $200 to spend on whatever I want for Christmas.  (College student budget) and I’m a student so I find myself doing most of my work on the computer. Now, should I buy a good $200 or so keyboard, or a GPU, I like to play games with my friends and my integrated graphics just aren’t cutting it. So should I buy a keyboard or a GPU?

(FYI, I’m leaning more toward the keyboard but my friends say they GPU)

well if the info on your profile is correct then nether, but by the way you are talking, it sound like you are not talking about the setup on your profile. So if thats the case what are the specs of your current system including display?

I can game on a free Dell keyboard but not in integrated graphics.

You even say integrated graphics aren't cutting it.  You must have a different definition of "cutting it" than I do.

1060 is better.

VRAM ain't everything in a GPU, plus it's a little hard to need more than 3GB VRAM anyway at 1080p.

The RX 570 or RX 580 should be cheaper than the 1060, if you can afford it

But is that better than the 1060 3gb?

A 580 is better in some games, yes.

The 580 typically is equal to the 1060 and costs less

A RX 570 Nitro+ 4GB (about a 1060 3GB) + Corsair K55 is just above 205$

Why not both?

From what I hear, you can get a pretty good mechanical keyboard for 50-60 dollars if you live in the US. Check out LTT or other tech channels, they did a lot of budget keyboard reviews.

On the GPU side, you can get a 1050ti or a 1060 with the leftover money (if you live in the US, prices are higher in other places) and that's going to make a world of difference for you (a friend of mine has some 8 year old intel cpu and a 1050ti and still manages to get 40-50 fps on Ass Creed Odyssey). If you play multiplayer games mostly with your friends, then one of those graphics cards is going to work great for the vast majority of esports/BR games.

Ryzen 1600x @4GHz

Asus GTX 1070 8GB @1900MHz

16 GB HyperX DDR4 @3000MHz

Asus Prime X370 Pro

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

Noctua NH-U14S

Seasonic M12II 620W

+ four different mechanical drives.
