I've put together this build and I will soon be putting it together, I was wondering if I'm making some fatal mistake. Also, I realized that the Motherboard only has 2 ram slots if you know any Motherboards for the same or close to the same price please let me know.

Ps. I'm In Canada.

No need to bog yourself down with a mere quad core. Why not grab a Ryzen. 5 2600 and a B450 motherboard?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Oh the Canadian price threw me off. $150 USD is $10 less than the Ryzen 5.

I would get a r3 1200 or a 2200g instead. They can be easily overclocked and are cheaper than the i3. They also are on a platform that will be supported longer and has many avaible cpus that you can choose to upgrade to later on.

Sorry, quick question. Does that mean that AMD will allow for older motherboards to support more modern CPUs down the line?

The am4 motherboards support ryzen 1 and 2 cpus and will also support ryzen 3 cpus and might support ryzen 4 as well. They said they would support the AM4 platform with new cpus until 2020. With Intel you would be limited to 8th gen and 9th gen cpus in all likelihood.

Thanks! I think you might've convinced me to go with an AMD based system.

Why get a r3 when its gaming and muli-tasking performance is worse and the 2200g only have 8 cpu pci-e lanes

 PC: A10 6700, 8gb DDR3 1600mhz, GTX 1050ti, 1TB HDD and Prebuilt motherboard, case, power supply & cooler

Laptop (Asus Vivovook X510UA): i5 8250u 8gb DDR4 2400mhz 256gb SSD

Because by in a few I'd rather not have to change my motherboard to try and keep up with the new CPU tech.

Because the r3 1200 can overclock to 3.9ghz with little effort and match the performance of the i3 while also being on a longer lasting platform.

Just because they match clock speeds doesn't mean it performs the same. Have you seen some benchmarks sir about r3 1200 and i3 8100. You clearly don't know what you are talking about

The 8100 is 3.6 ghz while the 1200 is 3.9 ghz if you overclock it. If you have seen benchmarks with the 2 cpus paired with a 1060 you would know there is basically 0 difference. It seems like you are the one who clearly doesn't know what they are talking about.
