I totally forgot to install gpu driver in an old PC , but is it needed?

dgsddfgdfhgs

Last month, I grab a ssd for my dad's pc, i5 2500& sapphire 6850 and installed clean windows.

I just realized I did not install amd catalyst . but so far nothing went wrong, he was playing world of tanks just fine.

unlike nvidia driver having updates very frequently for every new games. I never see any updates on this old card.

So is the amd catalyst really needed?

well if that windows 10, it installed the common drivers to run the gpu as is, check the updates patch notes if the gpu u are using has good updates. mostly updates are targeting newer gpus and specific game improvements

it is win10, so great I can free up some space not installing extra drivers.

yeah, and like I said read patch notes of updates on your gpu. if there are significant improvements for your gpu and what you use it for download and install it if not, you're good to go.

The HD6000 series is EOL and has been for some time. It doesn't get driver updates anymore. Only HD7700 series and higher (excluding < HD8700 OEM cards) so Windows 10 is probably already using the latest drivers.
