Front panel audiojacks not working

Hi everyone, I've got a pc with windows 10 and my front panel audiojacks are not working. I dont have a audiocard, my motherboard is a gigabyte Z97P-D3. My temporary solution was to get a cheap usb to audio adapter. Is there a way i cant activate the front panel audio jacks again? Btw a usb headphone works too.

Thanks for reading and maybe a anwser.

I would personally use the audio jacks on the back of the motherboard anyways since they're shielded from interference.

Do you know if it's jsut a problem with the case, the wires from case to mobo, or a problem with the motherboard header? (Fourth option is audio drivers)
