Molex connector, Smelted

Sata Power*

 

Soo i was just making some food and i hear a wierd sound from my computer and i ran to it to see and i saw some smoke form the top of the computer Where the HDD-hot swap bay is, and i Turnd of the power and opend the case to see that the Sata Power connector was melted off and i have no idea of what happend. I think it is the bad quality of the PCB / Connector / Case. That's why i ask you guys for help.

Well that looks kinda dangerous. I'd suggest contacting the company to see if you could set up a RMA or if you still have warranty that would cover something like that.

Holy crap, talk about a catastrophic failure O-O

 

That HAS to be a faulty component.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

Sorry if I'm misinterpreting but why was it wired if you have never used it?

Well just in canse i got a HDD that i just needed some stuff from and dont need to open the whole case to put it in
