router died :(

router died so its time to hit amazon. any benefit to a "gaming" router and or do i do a modem/router combo? 

 

im a noob and have no idea

 

edit : everything i use has a wired connection.

case: corsair carbide air 540 motherboard: asus maximus V formula assassin  cpu: intel i7 3770k 3.5ghz cooling: corsair h100  psu: corsair gold ax750w  gpu: amd radeon 7950 3gb  ram: 8gb g.skill sniper  drives: 120gb Samsung 840 ssd, 2tb western digital black

"gaming" is marketing bull shit at its best. Stay away from Modem/Router combos. 

 

About any router is good for Wired connections. 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
