GTX 1070 good for 144fps at 1440p low settings?

Pepsidot

Ah. I now remember why I stopped looking into overclocking my CPU many months back! I've ran a realbench stress test for just 15 minutes and my CPU without being overclocked reaches a max temp of about 76 degrees :/

Problem is, I would like to get a better CPU cooler however I had a guy put in my current CPU cooler and have no experience doing it myself. Therefore it would cost a lot of money to get someone to do it for me again + to pay for the new cooler + pay for the new monitor!

Well I figured 76 degrees is pretty high as I have set my PC to autoshut down at 80 degrees. I have also heard that the maximum general temp people aim for in an i7 4790k is 80-85 degrees. So as my temp is already so high, I feel as if there's no chance of overclocking it as it will shut down my PC.

Stock voltage is for that cpu to see 5gz. Voltage kills the temps. 76 isn’t anything. Want better temps, get rid of the old tim and replace it or use liquid metal.

Thanks for the help Mick, however I'm not sure what you mean by: getting rid of the old Tim or replacing it or using liquid metal.

Edit: ah nvm I know now know you're talking about the thermal paste.

I'll have to look into it because I've never done it myself before and I wouldn't want to ruin my whole PC if I do it wrong.

Well if you aren’t into that, don’t worry about the temps.
