So I got a brand new pc, put it together myself, it seemed ti be working properly. I then decided to plug in the fan that came with the case (led red). Once I started the pc it started smoking. As I am not very confident in my building skills I thought I shorted something. Then I tried to smell where the burning was coming from. Seemed like it's the fan. I quickly plugged it to an old psu that I don't need and boom - smoke and a sound of fire started coming out of the case. I was wondering if the fan is that bad can the case hide any other dangers for my parts? It is a 25 bucks case. Would it be safe using it without the fan or should I just return it?

You could probably just take out the fan if its faulty wiring, but I would definatly return the case anyway if it caught fire with a strongly worded message about how this thing could have killed me in my sleep.

The problem is Idk if I can take out the psu since it was super hard to put it in the psu box. xD otherwise I'd return it right away.

Well a temperary fix could be to just remove the fan till you have time to fix the issue, but I definatly would still plan to return it when you have the time.

Seasonic something something..  But its not that! As I said,  it smoked with two different psus and I've been using the seasonic for over an year with no issue.  Seems its just a cheap Chinese led fan!
