Hi guys, i want to know if it's safe to overclock ram speed from 2400mhz to 3200 for daily use. For that overclock i need to increase voltage from 1.200 to 1.300, and i don't know if it's safe for my mb/ram.

My mb is : Msi Tomahawk z370

My ram is : 2 x Crucial 8GB DDR4 2400MHz

1.300V is fine.

A lot of the 3000MHz+ kits you can buy are rated for 1.35V.

For an example the G.Skill TridentZ RGB kit that I have:

It's fine. All that would happen is the temperature would increase. But RAM rarely consumes enough power, and thus generate more heat, for this to be a problem.

If anything, make sure the CPU can handle it. Though I believe Coffee Lake is still fine with RAM up to 1.35V (and maybe a little more)

thats fine, the only thing is that RAM OCs can throw some extremely random problems at you if they arent 100% fine

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
