Motion Blur Reduction/Overdrive causes faint horizontal lines? MSI Optix MAG27CQ

Thunder0024
Hi!
I just bought a new monitor, and I'm currently testing it on a plain office PC as I don't have a power supply for my gaming rig yet. I noticed that whenever enabling the "Response Time" setting on this monitor, which also enables a feature called Overdrive, causes very faint horizontal lines that move vertically up the screen. It's a lot more visible on darker blues and greys. It's extremely noticeable in the Steam library, for example.
Currently, the monitor is connected via HDMI to the motherboard of an Acer Aspire TC-780. I cannot get a refresh rate over 60hz @ 1440p, and 120hz @ 1080p. I'm hoping this issue simply has something to do with the fact that it isn't connected to a GPU, therefore being unable to be used to its full potential.
Note: The lines aren't present (as far as I can tell) with this setting off.
Is this a normal side effect of Overdrive being turned on?
Thank you in advance!
(Attached is a badly edited photo of the screen. The darker grey lines are the ones that I'm reffering to.)
