Just got new gpu, now wont post

I just got a new 1070 ti strix to replace my msi 970. When i installed it everything went to plan but when i turned it on everything lit up but nothing came on the screen (the fans span for 1-2 sec on the gpu but stopped, every other fan keeps going, maybe because it dont need to keep spinning). I tried putting my 970 back and without a gpu in but keeps not showing anything. (my computer worked fine before, i only upgraded because i wanted more performance not because anything was broken)

Anyone with the same problem? And suggestions?

ah yes some boards especially ryzen ones do this crap, just clear your cmos by removing the battery or through the jumper. Ryzen has a different cmos clearing procedure btw one has to keep the system plugged in but not turned on. Also recheck all your connections.
