Question about GPU Installment

voiha

Basically we've bought Asrock Z370M Pro4 board, which has 2 x16-lenght slots, but it's said that the second slot has only four chipset lanes, does that mean if I put the GPU on the second slot (bottom) the GPU will be bottlenecked/run slower ?

I'm asking because the CPU cooler is too big and there is no  way to put the GPU in the first slot... :(

Thanks in advance !

Yes, you need to have the card in the first slot, or you are neutering the card. 2nd slot is only electrically wired for x4.

The bottom PCIe slot (PCIe4) is only x4 lanes. You should use the top slot for the graphics card.
What CPU cooler is it?

The bottom slot will bottleneck the gpu. You should consiter a pci extender or vertical mounting solution. They barely (if at all) limit performance.

Have you installed your CPU cooler correctly?

Sometimes they are offset to one side to allow GPU space.

Take a look at the manual to see the correct orientation.

Some info after 5 hours spent on it, the GPU fits, but from my perspective before I assemble it it looked like it won't
