Power supply advice

Vague
Go to solution Solved by MrImnotMLG,

So if i was to get 650W version, would that be good enough for some overclocking head room?

I really don't like the RM series "cables"

I have a similar build in the queue on PCPP that says 472w(at stock) so it should all work fine because overclocking shouldn't use that much more power than stock.

So i am looking for a modular power supply but i don't know what to get in watts for my new build i am planning. The build will have an Haswell CPU "not sure if i5 or i7" GTX 780 ti, AIO Cooler, mid range motherboard and 16GB memory and 500GB SSD. Would be great if you guys could help me out.

AX860i. Sufficent for SLI and not to overkill for single GPU :)

He asked what PSU will work and it will work well, but I'd say for the SuperNOVA 750W, RM 750, AX760, Seasonic 750X

Yeah, i was like dafuq.

You asked. I answered.

I say go with something from Seasonic,EVGA, or Corsair (RM or AX) between 600-750W

AX1200i,EVGA SuperNOVA 1500W, RM1000,EVGA SuperNOVA 750W.

That's WAY overkill He can use a 600W PSU and still over 50W of overhead.

Current System: CPU - I5-6500 | Motherboard - ASRock H170M-ITX/ac | RAM - Mushkin Blackline 16GB DDR4 @ 2400mHz | GPU - EVGA 1060 3GB | Case - Fractal Design Nano S | Storage - 250GB 850 EVO, 3TB Barracuda | PSU - EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze | Display - AOC 22" 1080p IPS | Cooling - Phanteks PH-TC12DX_BK | Keyboard - Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid(MX Blues) | Mouse - Logitech G602 | Sound - Schiit Stack | Operating System - Windows 10

The OG System: I3-2370M @ 2.4 GHz, 750GB 5400 RPM HDD, 8GB RAM @1333Mhz, Lenovo Z580 Laptop (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS).

I know it is but he asked for something that will work so it doesn't really matter if it overkill.

I really don't like the RM series "cables"

I have a similar build in the queue on PCPP that says 472w(at stock) so it should all work fine because overclocking shouldn't use that much more power than stock.

Something around 600W 80+ Gold.

I'd suggest corsair RM series or Seasonic G-Series, the choice it up to you really. :D

who cares...
