Weird clicking/ticking sound when PC is under load

Hi all,

Recently I've assembled my dream machine and now I'm experiencing some weird clicking/ticking sound coming from my case when my pc is under load, never heard anything like that before. Anyone experienced something like this? Anyone know what could it be? A rough estimation? smile.gif
I can't record becuase it occurs randomly...

Can you post the specs of your system?

Most commonly clicking sounds come from a failing HDD, but without any other information it will be hard to diagnose. Try reading and writing data to the HDD(s) and see if that triggers the noise.
Might also help if you remove the side panel and try listening to the system to see if you can pinpoint the location the noise is coming from.

I don't have HDD....

Could be a fan spinning too slow too.

I CAN but I can't hold it there all the time because it happens randomly under load. Sometimes after 1min, sometimes after 10mins and sometimes after an hour. It's really strange.

Is it just a single random click, or is it a series of clicks?

 

My guess is also a fan likely brushing against a cable and it's happening under load when the fans are spinning faster. Ensure all your fans are clear from any loose cables.

It is just a single random click...

My guess was :

 

Something is producing electrostatic shock inside my case

Fan of PSU is kicking when pc is under load but then again this would happen every single time but this ticking sound happens randomly

Plastic inside my case is producing these sounds due to stretching because of heat?!

could be a bad intake fan hitting the front of your case at a certain rpm

I'd take the sides off run any benchmarking program you got or like.And listen and pin point where the sound is coming from.
