monitor with an output port?

Hey,

is there a way to extract display pixel information by another device, rather than with software of a pc connected to display input? I mean can I send the pixel info forward or extract by another device, rather than taking a picture of the display contents (Something more convenient and stable)? I am sure someone has built an output port to a monitor :)

since you dont mention what exactly would be the purpose of this im just gonna mention that with display port you can daisy chain multiple monitors behind each other.
