Need 2 case fans. What are the good value choices these days?

I'm helping a friend with troubleshooting some issues with his build, and one of the complaints is that both stock fans (one rear, one top) in his S340 Elite case have apparently seized up. No matter what the temperature is inside the case, the fans refuse to spin any faster than maybe one RPM. So after some effort spent trying to figure out a solution for the fans I've decided that it's time to replace them. Is there something I'm missing here or is it truly time to replace them? The case is a year old.

 

My friend has barely enough money to spare on new fans, and he certainly can't afford premium fans at least for now. What is a good stopgap solution that people turn to nowadays? Has to be a 2 pack set of good low price case fans priced at preferably below $40 after California sales tax (~8%).

Sounds more like a setting in the bios.

This was one of the first things I looked into. Nothing anomalous was found here.

Sometimes settings in the BIOS dont get applied and you need to reset CMOS to make it work again. That's how my mobo worked.

Already did this for an unrelated issue. That issue was fixed but the fans continued to not spin afterward.

imo, I never had any problems with CMs Jetflos and sickleflows. And bang for the buck too.

Yeah, Redux fans are a nice choice. Corsair fans are the worst I ever used, CM fans seem ok and Fractal fans are also good.

Only available from one third party seller on Amazon, that's too bad. My friend has a bit of gift card credit left on Amazon that can knock the price down a little, but buying from a seller that isn't fulfilled by Amazon would be a huge turn off for him. He is a bit paranoid about that.

Yea the Noctua fans are nice but limited availability on Amazon is a problem. Opinions on the NZXT Aer non-RGB 120mm fans?

What headers are the case fans being powered off of and what rpm are they running at?

They are plugged into the molex cables. No idea what RPM they were at for obvious reasons.

The included molex adapter just runs them at 100% rpm with no form of control. If you want fan speeds, plug the fans into your motherboard instead.
