New MSI GS65 terrible fan whine

I just got my new MSI GS65 and the second it turns on before I even set up windows the CPU fan start screaming. At idle its loud enough to hear over my window ac with closed ear headphones on. I don't want to send it back but I also don't want to void the warranty. any ideas what the issues is or how to fix it? I found blowing though the exhaust make the noise lessen but after turning MSI's cooler boost on the noise returns.

I'd RMA it.

The fan bearings might be off. Not the kind of thing you can fix without voiding your warranty. You should RMA it.

thats what i'm thinking ill have to do. its my only working computer now and I leave for school in a month. from what i'm reading about msi and their rma service I wont have it back till i'm already out to school.

It shouldn't take a month, but right now you have no other option. If you get in contact with their RMA department, they'll probably be able to give you a timeline.

update: I called best buy (bought it through their website). They said if I send it back with their shipping label as soon as they get it back they'll ship out another brand new one. i'm going to do that, They already emailed me their return shipping label address thing. Hope all goes well. Frustrating getting something so expensive and its broke out the box. I don't think given what i have read online that its msi's fault. more likely UPS I think.

Update 2: best buy has the absolute best customer service i've delt with. Calling best buy was a pain but I have had worse. Talked to a robot 3 times without getting to a human then the call droped. after calling again I finally got to talk to a human. I'm not sure what her name was but she was kind and very helpful. Where I work I was able to ship out the lap top and easily used ups's website to get the return label. In just a few hours from being scanned and shipped I received an email. A new lap top was already on its way with free 2 day shipping but still some how is set to get here the next day. If you buy an msi lap top I personally from my experience alone would recommend you do it from someone with a good return policy. I never even had to contact msi with how great best buy has been.
