Motherboards - Checking VRM Manufacturer?

Hi Everyone,

I picked up my Asus Prime Z370-A today but there's just something I can't seem to figure out. I know how to figure out what's "Fairchild" based on the forum post on Overclock.net but what about the other manufacturers? Do you guys know how you're able to tell who made your VRMs i.e. Vishay, On Semi?

I'm trying to figure which variant I purchased. Any way to check? Thanks!

If you want to know what mosfets are used you'll have to take off the vrm heatsinks.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

:S omg what if I can't put it back on? I'm not sure how it's stuck on there. Is it just those sticky thermal pads?

It should be thermal pad. Most if not all vrms use those.

Also it's still possible we won't be able to tell since Asus could have rebranded the stuff :/

yeah, I tried looking for Intel info on VRM with his channel. Primarily trying to figure out diff between amd intel of same board K7 I think it was. Because AMD does things differently. I give that Bullzoid kid props, except he needs a haircut.

I see.. um... is there a proper way to remove them and restick them on or is it just very straight forward?

EDIT: Should I bother removing the heatsinks just to check?? I mean the differences between the two manufacturers can't be that great...can it?
