G-sync if you run over 60/120/144 Hz

( BEFORE ANYONE SAY IT ONLY COME IN 144HZ MONITORS I KNOW )

 

can somebody tell me what the difference between vsync/Gsync is if you are running over the refresh rate of the monitor . 

 

I may be miss understanding but all the videos i watch linus and PcPER  included they all say about running at a perfect 60hz 120hz or 144hz but what if you run over that will the tearing still be there ?

 

Like i said i may have miss understood

I think it just does not go over that?

I though this was explained already...

 

If you have the horse power to go over the refresh rate of the monitor, both of them will not allow you to go over the max refresh rate of the monitor but gsync will not cause the side effects of tearing/lag/frame dipping that vsync does.  As-well as making lower frame rates appear smoother.
