broken LED?

DSD27

I have this fan http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/case-fan/bc-140-red-led-fan/

Today I noticed that one of the LED lights isn't working, can LEDs break same as lamps? Or is it a power issue?

Yes LED's can burn out after a long time of use, while that usually is a very very long time.

As any type of electric light, LEDs will burn out after some years

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

It's not necessarily burning out.

The most common failure is the super tiny wires that connect the actual led silicon die to the plastic package becoming loose from multiple heating and cooling cycles. Often you can just press on the led and it lights up again because those wires make contact again with the metal pads.

Those wires are also called "bond wires" in the business:

Yeah but I didn't use that fan for much time, I stored it away for some time and now I installed it again.

@mariushm Any tips on how to do that?

Can it be the case of it being broken due to some hit and not repairable?

It might have bad wires from factory. If you can, RMA is best way to go.
