Why do most child actors grow up to be shorter than the average height?

Well look at the parents, if they are both tall then it’s weird. If they are both shorter then it’s genetics

Mostly men. Think Daniel Radcliffe.

http://www.imdb.com/list/ls008342867/

1. Ron Howard - 1.75m

2. Christian Bale - 1.83m

3. Elijah Wood - 1.68m

4. Leonardo DiCaprio - 1.83m

5. Sean Astin - 1.7m

6. River Phoenix - 1.78m

7. Matt Dillon - 1.83m

8. Christian Slater - 1.74m

9. Ricky Schroder - 1.78m

10. Dean Stockwell - 1.68m

According to this, the average height in the US is 1.75m:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_average_human_height_worldwide

Out of the top 10 male actors on the list (The list goes further, I just stopped at 10), 6 of them are at or over the average, with a 7th only 1cm short (Sorry Christian!)

So by that statistical analysis, "most" male child actors do, in fact, grow up at or higher than the US national average.
