I-7 8700 Coffee Lake

Go to solution Solved by EaleyA,

I believe I got to the bottom of this.  I didn't realize it didn't actually reach the 4.6 mark until it was under load. While running benchmarks I found it to increase in Mhz.

Alright, I have an I-7 8700 coffee lake,

It says it is setting at about 3200mhz and it has a 4600mhz limit. How do I enable this turbo boost?

Asus Prime Z370A motherboard.

Sorry if this has been answered, but I couldn't find any answers about it.

There's a setting in the BIOS that you need to enable to let it Turbo boost, and another setting in msconfig as well.

it only turboboosts to 4.6ghz on a SINGLE core

Intel Turboboost is enabled out of the box

if for whatever reason you dont seeing it turbo-ing then there is a setting in the bios to enable or disable it

With this would I still have to edit the MSconfig file as the previous person mentioned?

u have to turn on asus muticore enhancement (MCE) for 4.6 all cores, also u can set ur bclk to 102 for ~4.7ghz, MCE will provide too much voltage for 4.7 so ull have to also set manual voltage.
