Struggling to choose a monitor

Hi All!

 

I'm building a PC and have most of the parts decided on, I am however stuck on what monitor to get. I'm looking at getting a 1080ti but with some research into refresh rates, panel types and screen tearing I have now become unsure on the monitor that I have previously chosen (2560x1440 IPS 60hz BenQ). Most of the heavy load on the computer will be from computer games. I was sold on IPS monitors after I decided that 4ms isn't much of a sacrifice for better colours. If anyone could help me decide on what monitor specs that I want then that would be lovely! (I'm not sure what I want) I have a budget of a maximum of £400 plus or minus £50 for the monitor.

What do you think of 144hz,4k, and Gsync?

I would suggest a IPS, 100hz or above, 27" 2560x1440 or 34" 3440x1440 as based. G-Sync or not that depends on your available budget.

I've decided on the following specs for the monitor:

 

IPS

2560x1440

27"

G-Sync

120hz+

Understated design (not a fan of 'gamer-esque' design) 

 

My budget has some flexibility but I have a moral guide of no more than £700. As far as my definition for understated, the BenQ - GW2765HT 27.0" 2560x1440 60Hz Monitor is a good example (and the monitor that I was going to get).
