This might be a stupid question, but this is my first build and I want to make sure to be right. I recently bought the Benq GW2255 21.5 inch monitor and the HIS IceQ 7870. I was looking at the back of the video card that has a hdmi port and a female dvi port, I looked on the monitor with a male dvi port. Long story short, I was wondering what kind of cable would be best for gaming? 

AMD FX-6300 @ Stock, MSI 970a-G46 Motherboard, Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 1600Mhz, HIS Radeon Hd 7870 Ghz Edition @ 1100/1350, WD Caviar Blue 1tb, Corsair CX600, NZXT Source 220, and a Benq 21.5 Inch Monitor.

HDMI and DVI are generally the same, But for gaming I would go with DVI

I mean what kind of cable? DVI to HDMI? DVI Male to DVI Female?

Dvi to DVI, dont do an adapter

Dual link is the best and they are like 50p more than a single link. Don't be stingy!
