Right power supply

ShadowSlayer
Go to solution Solved by Jurrunio,

Your friends' PSU model name? 500W is enough for him, but some models suck.

As for your build, assuming that you will replace the GTX 950 to something 1070 level, upgrade PSU to 550w level is recommended. Seasonic units, Corsair CX550 (2017), CX550M (grey label) are a few.

If you dont plan on getting K CPUs though, just get b250 or h110(with updated BIOS).

Hi. Everyone. So me and my friend are getting our PC upgrades today and we wanted to know if and how powerful power supply we should get.

I will be getting new Mother Board with i5 and 24 GB of Ram and he will be getting Strix GTX 1070.

I have 450w corsair power supply and he has 500w power suppply.

Any help will be appreciated. Cheers.

For a friend's PC Core i5 6500, 16 GB of ram, Asus Z170-P mother board, Asus strix gtx 1070, 500w power supply

For my PC Core i5 7400, let's say 16 GB of ram, Asus prime Z270-P, GTX 950
