PS4 slim and phone not seeing 5Ghz connection

Dogsparky

I have been at this for a few days, but my ps now is recommended to use a 5 Ghz connection but it doesn't even want to pop up in the available connections , i don't know why i have tried every possible thing under the moon, and netgear at the nerve to tell me that the playstation slim isn't capable of a 5Ghz connection, is there anything here that you can see that can be changed to make it pop up? i have searched for new firmware apparently that is the most up to date firmware

My PS4 was always connected to 2.4, I don't think that POS can connect to 5.

The normal PS4 doesn't support 5Ghz, but...

"Sony's new cheaper, lighweight PS4 "Slim" model will support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies across 802.11ac/n/g thanks to its new Wi-Fi networking card. Users will be able to switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies at any time, provided they have the requisite networking technology."
