Buying Dilemma

Right now this is the build I currently have https://gyazo.com/8a900307cbb701d5f9078c23429cec64 . If I have troubles with slow loading times, blue screens, slow alt tabbing, would it be better to upgrade to 16GB of 1866Hz RAM or upgrading to a Ryzen 5 1600x build. I know that the Ryzen  centric build would cost more but what would be the most cost effective in terms of future proofing. I apologize if this is a total idiotic question to ask.

Again forgive me for my ignorance but would any of my game files, videos, or other important files be wiped?

Yes, i recommend nuking the whole drive and start new, if you got a few bucks buy a SSD and clean install.

I know that there are most probably guides online on "nuking" a HDD but would you explain how it's done or link me if you'd like?

For a clean install all you have to do is

1. Back up files to external source

2. Insert OS disk

3. Follow on screen prompts (have Key ready)

4. Reinstall programs and drivers
