a short causing it to zap me?

Elite500

is that even possible? My PC won't post and it sais error code 00 which CAN mean that the motherboard is shortening somewhere.. now I've also been electrocuted by my case earlier which I thought was odd.. Are these related anyhow?

do you know if I can let it run outside the case without the waterblock? I don't have an air cooler for my entire shit, also the cpu SHOULD be fine, they delidded it and tested it so if it broke, it broke in the transport for no reason

Uhm.. Waterblock for the CPU you mean?

Is it fully watercooled?

Was it like this from the get-go?

waterblock for the cpu, gpu etc, I'd drain my loop and then take everything out, ugh took me the entire weekend to get it to work T_T

You said that some parts are new and that some aren't.. Did it work before you plugged the new ones in?

When did this start and what did you do before it happened?

You don't happen to still have those laying around?

The zapping could mean that something is behind the motherboard causing it to short.

Did you build it yourself?

I haven't sold the old parts yet, I built it myself, my only question was if the shock was random or if it actually has something to do with my motherboard shortening, I've orderd a second CPU (7800x) just to test if my motherboard or cpu is an issue, would be interesting

It's almost definetly connected. If the chassi shocks you- it shocks the motherboard too.

CHeck cabling. PSU might be fried or plugged poorly, something might be touching your motherboard in the wrong way..
Water from the watercooling might have spilled on it, look for leaks and all that

when I get home from work I'll plop in the new cpu, if it works then I'll rma the old one, if not I'll take the motherboard out put it on it's box rebuild it and start the pc for like 5 seconds to see if it actually boots, without the waterblocks, seems they will just turn it off if it gets too hot.. I hope

this. I find this can happen a lot with extra connectors scrammed behind the backside panel. Also worth checking out the case itself, front ports and whatnot. Case?

case is the phanteks enthoo tempered glass "scrammed behind the backside panel." huh, I had very little space for cable management so I did just stuff the rest of the molex etc in the back, this could also be the issue?

Crammed, I typoed. Anyway should be fine so long as they are not put under pressure. I find that a lot of people rush with cable management and shove it all behind the right side panel especially with windowed builds, which is fine as long as you don't force it to close. The panel is metal after all, and if you crush the connectors it might short something, especially molex ones, bonus if they're cheaply made molex fan connectors. I've done that one before.

well do that, and if still happens the easiest thing to do is run it all out of the case on top of the motherboad box or in a different case. If it still happens well go from there, if it doesn't, it's the case or the way its put in. If you do it on top of the motherboard box, be careful with the gpus since they have no support

molex isn't the only thing stuffed in on the backside, thought shouldn't it be starting then if I didn't have my backside panel attached then? I tried without but still error code 00

or it's shortening out somewhere.. zzz I've orderd a 7800x for this exact cause; gpu, psu, ram all out of question since they worked for a previous build, in a few hours when I get off of work I'll put the 7800x in and see what the result is, I really hope it's the cpu at cause, removing the motherboard with all the watercooling components would be a massive pain

Probably a stupid question but are you using motherboard stand-offs i.e. the little threaded brass pins or does your PC case chassis not require them? (I've missed on of these stuck behind the board once and wouldn't actually POST from memory) Presumably not a coolant leak/spillage of any kind?

My first thought is something metalic between the board and chassis or anything crammed down the back of the mothboard which a short could track along though I'd be surprised by a cable connector doing this unless it is somehow got moisture on it from.

Good luck!
