Whats the diffrence between a cloned hd and system image backup

What can i do with cloned that i cant just restore a backup for

so i watched this video, and i guess the only option is to clone, is there something i need to do this other than software?

I wouldn't recommend Cloning.. It could cause issues when moving OS. Fresh install is the best option.

how do i fresh install, look all im trying to do is have the same data on a diffrent disk and have it run

Restoring from a disk image has almost always(watch out for external 4k sector drives!) worked for me. I use disk imaging for my backups every night.

 

I highly recommend "Macrium Reflect" for cloning or making disk images. The 'Reflect' version is their free version and works great.
