Asus GTX 1060 6GB OC stuck at 250mhz - help

Hi there guys

I'm have an issue with my graphics card.. it is a Asus 1060 6gb OC and suddenly I've been having problems with 3d softwares, crashing and all always at the same time (usually when they depend on the gpu effort).. I was looking for what could be the problem and checked that on the gpu monitor that the clock was stuck at 250mhz even when i was pushing hard for it... the base clock is around 1600mhz so.. even in idle, it shouldn't drop as low as it is right now...

I always install all the updates for the drivers and since sunday, I've reinstalled the drivers, did the clean install with the removal of all drivers behind in safe mode and all and still gives me the same problems...

any advice? could you help me here?
thank you

Okay I have a MSI 1080 Gaming X that did the same thing after a driver update a couple of months back. It drove me nuts for a couple of days - what I ended up doing was uninstalling the driver completely. To the point where I was using the Intel Graphics for the system, then re-download and reinstall the drivers from scratch, and redo my overclock. After I did this I haven't had any more issues at all.

Good luck!

Hi there,

I did the same.. by the way... how did you uninstall everything? did u use some kind of software to do it? to identify and erase every component related to the video card or did u do it by hand?

I just use the normal Windows uninstall components via the control panel and device manager.

Use the application in safe mode so it REALLY wipes out every bit of drivers left overs, fixes the registry and every thing, and only then you reinstall the drivers fresh new.

OP means Original Post, the first post of the thread.
