Is the GTX 1060 good enough for 2560x1080 60fps? I want to get a GTX 1060 and a new monitor and was wondering if it would work well for ultrawide gaming?

it should be for most games, depends on the game.

Depends on the game and your settings. Don't expect to max out all currently available games.

In most games, you should be able to hit 60 FPS at 1080p with medium, high, or ultra settings depending on the game.

I play on an lg 2560 x 1080 + a 1080p monitor on each side for other stuff with a EVGA 750ti you'll Probably be just fine. Not the best graphics but perfectly playable.

That depends on what games you'll be playing, and at what graphical settings you'll be playing them. Questions like this are unanswerable without this information.

the 1060 is built for 1080p very high graphical settings in AAA titles, so going ultrawide means medium or high settings.

i think so.  i mean 2560x1080 is very close to 1080p standard.         I use a gtx 1080 ti and although its more powerful 1080p fps and 2560x1080 is not much of a fps jump

Forget about ghost recon:wildlands.To play that game at 1080p with max settings you need a 1070.

To go from 1080p to 1440p perfomance isn't much impacted.
